Logistics case study: Actome

Founded in January 2020, Actome specializes in B2B dropshipping and in-store distribution.. The company does not sell directly to consumers, but works with professional customers and retailers throughout France and Europe. With a fast-growing business, logistics management represented a major challenge, requiring a high-performance, adaptable solution.

Problems encountered

Before fully collaborating with Shippingbo, Actome faced several major challenges:

  • Fragmented order management: dropshipping orders were processed via Shippingbo, while retail orders were managed via the Codial ERP. This led to a lack of consistency and global visibility.
  • Unreliable stock: the absence of a unified system led to stock management errors, resulting in discrepancies and unexpected stock-outs.
  • Inefficient preparation process: Prior to its move to a more modern warehouse, Actome made limited use of Shippingbo, and had not implemented an optimized preparation process with handhelds.
  • Partitioned information flows: As Codial’s ERP was not very open, interconnection with Shippingbo was complex and required specific adaptations.

These obstacles slowed productivity and had a direct impact on delivery times, a key factor in customer satisfaction.

Shippingbo solutions

To overcome these challenges, Actome made the strategic choice to unify its logistics management around Shippingbo, which has become the central core of its business. The first step was to centralize orders, whether from dropshipping or retail, in order to simplify management and ensure better visibility of inventory. To compensate for the lack of openness of its Codial ERP, specific connections were set up, enabling fluid synchronization between the two systems.

At the same time, during its move, Actome modernized its processes by adopting an optimized preparation path and integrating the use of shower heads, thus facilitating fast and accurate order processing. This transition to an advanced warehouse improved logistics organization and accelerated shipping. Last but not least, Shippingbo proved to be an intuitive and easy-to-use tool.with rapid training enabling new employees to be up and running in less than two hours.

Thanks to these improvements, all orders are now processed via a single interface, guaranteeing efficient tracking and faster dispatch. Inventory management is optimized, reducing the risk of errors and stock-outs. With Shippingbo as the backbone of its logistics organization, Actome has considerably improved fluidity and performance, while equipping itself with a scalable solution capable of supporting future growth.
