The 3 days of the largest e-commerce event in France came to a close on September 21, 2017. Shippingbo was present in the Logistics sector at the entrance to the show. This 2017 edition was an opportunity for the major players in this business sector to exchange and testify to their expertise in their fields. Conferences, keynotes, meetings and interviews followed one another. You can find all the conferences on video if you weren’t at the show, or if you’d like to watch them again.

“Over 25,000 trade visitors and nearly 500 participating companies“
– Paris Retail Week 2017
E-commerce continues to grow

To kick off Paris Retail Week, FEVAD has published a review of online sales for the second quarter of 2017.
Once again, e-commerce is on the rise (11%). In fact, the French spent no less than 19.5 million euros over this period. And yet the average shopping basket has fallen: on average, the French spend 68 euros per order, a figure that’s declining. But they are buying more often. The study shows that they order 9.7 times per buyer over the quarter, compared with 8.9 previously.
Another important figure is that 81% of French people made at least one online purchase during the quarter.
Marketplace sales rose by +15% in Q2. Marketplace sales now account for 31% of sales by sites with a marketplace.

“Consumers are still buying, but their habits are changing considerably. They inform themselves differently, and their purchasing processes and delivery expectations are also evolving… “
– Marc Lolivier, General Delegate of FEVAD
